I am a photographer and artist with a particular interest in portraiture and figurative work. Sometimes I stray into the world of nature and lately I have been creating a fusion of figure and natural material. I am inspired and challenged to illustrate form, light, texture and shadow in my subjects.
I am fond of employing home-crafted and unconventional gear and methods to create my images. Much of my energy is derived from freshly ground coffee meticulously brewed by French press.

“Katlyn Lacoste (Seattle, WA) is the model and is an artist so I instructed her to draw artwork — anything at all — on the chalkboard and then to interact with it in any way she wanted. Then I let her go and attempted to keep up. I used a tilt/shift lens to distort the scene.

She reached down deep for feelings and a primitive response. That’s why I called this set The Id. After Freud’s theories: Ego, Super Ego, Id.”
